With Motronix being involved in the tuning of high end cars, we started getting involved in developing tuning packages for various race cars and teams that competed in Hillclimb and various national races. This gave us an insight of what it takes to run a competitive team
In 2017, we put together a race team and joined a regional race series. In our first year out, we proved to be competitive and managed to finished 3rd in a championship. this led to us working with multiple brands and customers to further develop their brand in the circuit racing industry. In turn improving our skills and experience with a variety of track and race cars
We were approached by Skyworth TV. after a very successful year building and racing their race car, we decided to open up a fully fledged race division called QVWI Motorsport. This saw the resources of Motronix and Skyworth put together under on umbrella. In 2023, we entered in South Africa’s most competitive race series called VW Polocup. This saw the team compete all over South Africa against the best teams in our country. We had extremely successful year with multiple podiums. The success led to a number of sponsors coming onboard, companies started to understand the marketing aspect of motorsport.
In 2023, QV Motorsport acquired various race cars, our latest project was a Porsche 997 GT3 which we entered the GT Supercup series with. We achieved a victory on our first outing with this race car and during the year, we had multiple podiums.
